PEUGEOT has taken double honours at the EcoCar Electrified Top 50 awards. The e-208 was named ‘Best Small Electric Car’ by Diesel&EcoCar while the e-2008 took home the ‘Best Electric Compact SUV’ award. Both models, alongside the 3008 HYBRID were also named in the Electrified Top 50 list of best vehicles on sale today.
The EcoCar Electrified Top 50 lists the best electrified vehicles on sale in the UK as well as the best models to buy across key vehicle categories. The PEUGEOT e-208 was named the ‘Best Electric Small Car’ by Diesel&EcoCar and was ranked 24th overall in the list of 50 best models.
Ian Robertson, Editor and Publisher of Diesel&EcoCar, said “The e-208 is petite and handsome, and packs a sizeable 50kWh battery and punchy 100kW electric motor meaning that it has a great range and is great fun in the process. An appealing cabin packed with equipment is backed up with a good boot and a roomy interior. It’s our favourite small electric car.”
The PEUGEOT e-2008 was awarded the ‘Best Electric Compact SUV’ and was ranked 15th overall. Alongside the two full-electric models, the 3008 HYBRID was also ranked in the Top 50 list, placing 18th overall.
Robertson, added: “The e-2008 is stylish, good to drive and ideally sized to tackle urban British roads. Considering its compact size, it has an excellent range of 214 miles (WLTP). It’s got more luggage space than a VW Golf and its interior is modern and boasts the latest technology. It’s our best electric compact SUV.”
Powered by a 50kWh battery and a 100kW (136hp) electric motor, the PEUGEOT e-208 can achieve up to 225 miles (WLTP) between charges. The e-2008 features the same electric powertrain and is capable of up to 214 miles (WLTP) on a single charge. Both models support up to 100kW rapid charging with a 0-80% charge taking just 30 minutes.
The 3008 HYBRID is available in two powertrains, a HYBRID4 300 e-EAT8 or HYBRID 225 e-EAT8. The HYBRID4 300 features a 200hp PureTech petrol engine coupled to two electric motors, one at the front axle and the other at the rear for a total power output of 300hp. HYBRID 225 models combine a 181hp PureTech petrol engine with a single electric motor at the front axle. With an electric range of up to 39 miles (WLTP), both HYBRID and HYBRID4 are ideal for fleet and business drivers with a 12% Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) rate.
