Motability Go Charge

Called ‘Go Charge’ for short our new card and app gives you access to over 50,000 public chargepoints from over 20 different chargepoint operators. That’s over half of all chargepoints in the UK.

We do not offer discounted charging at the moment, but you’ll never pay more than the operator’s ‘pay as you go’ tariff.

You’ll get this as part of your worry-free package when you get a new electric car on the Scheme.

Ownership Information

When it comes to owning a Motability vehicle, there are a few rules that must be adhered to.

The car will only be used for the benefit of the disabled customer.
The car must not be used for commercial purposes e.g. as a taxi or delivery vehicle.
The car will be kept at the address provided.
The car will only be driven by the drivers approved and listed on the Certificate of Motor Insurance. All drivers must have a legally valid driving licence.

As an owner of a Motability vehicle, you cannot:

Use it for the disabled person’s benefit
Have you or someone else driving without insurance or while you’re banned
Use it in a criminal act
Lend, sub-lease or sell it
Use it for business reasons we haven’t agreed with you, like as a taxi or for deliveries
Not take good care of it

If you are found misusing your car, your lease might be terminated, you may be stopped from getting another Scheme vehicle, and you will be sent the bill for any repairs or estimated loss in its sale value.

Different vehicles suit different people, so we’ll help you decide between our vehicle types and any adaptations. We’ll help you make sure you’re making the right choice for you. Just ask a member of staff.

Payments are receive straight from your allowance provider, to make paying simple. So you know – you might need to top this up with an Advance Payment.

You can start applying online if it’s a car or a WAV (Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle). Once you’ve had a test drive and you’ve found a vehicle you like, visit a one of our respective branches and a member of staff well help you get the car you're after.

If it's a car you've ordered, you’ll pick up your brand new vehicle direct from us at the branch you ordered from. If it’s a different vehicle, we’ll deliver it to your home. Once you’re happy with it, you can start enjoying your brand new vehicle.
